Transcription Not Available
The "Transcription not available" generally means YouMail could not transcribe the voicemail within a reasonable amount of time and timed out. There are a few reasons for that.
- You have a one of our YouMail Plus or YouMail Professional subscriptions along with a Read-It plan: If you are subscribed to one of our main paid subscriptions with multiple activated lines and have a Read-It add on plan (Human edited transcriptions), it could be that all are trying to transcribe at once. The Read-It plan only allows for the main number to have the human edited transcriptions. All other lines on the account will default to machine edited transcriptions.
- Your voicemail was unclear: If your caller's connection is poor, staticky, or muffled, this will affect the ability to transcribe your voicemail. Also, if the caller is silent, the result will be the same. You can request for your caller to speak clearly by enabling the prompt here under Greetings.
- YouMail got overloaded with too many transcription requests in a short period of time. We try to ensure your message is transcribed within 1-2 minutes of the call (the shorter the message, the faster the transcription). If for some reason, we can’t transcribe a message within 10 minutes, we send an email alert without the transcription.
