First, please be sure that you have correctly enabled Email & Text Alerts on your YouMail account. You can do so either within the app or on the YouMail website. For email alerts, make sure that you have already confirmed your email address which is typically done when you initially sign up. When enabling Text Alerts, you will be sent a verification code that you will need to enter in order to activate Text Alerts.
Enabling Email Alerts
- Log into your account on the YouMail website
- Select the “Settings” tab on the top of the screen
- Select the “Alerts” section on the left of the screen
- Click the “Edit” button which is the pencil icon on the right side of the screen,
- Check all of the boxes under “When should email alerts be sent to you?”
- Click “Save” at the bottom of the Screen.
Enabling SMS/TXT Message Alerts
- Log into your account on the YouMail website
- Select the “Settings” tab on the top of the screen
- Select the “Alerts” section on the left of the screen
- Click the “Edit” button on the right corner of "SMS/TXT Alerts".
- Check each of the boxes under “When should SMS/TXT message alerts be sent to you?"
- Click the “Save" button at the bottom of the screen.
If you have correctly enabled Email and Text Message Alerts and still notice the notifications are not working, please give your number a test call and verify that you are still activated to the YouMail voicemail. If the call and voicemail message do not show up in your YouMail account, please go back into the App or the Website, go to settings, and select "Forward to YouMail"(Under the "My Phones" tab if you are on the website). This will begin forwarding your missed calls back to YouMail.
If you are still having issues, please submit a ticket to our support team.
