As you were creating your account, you also created a password so that only you can access your messages. If you no longer remember your password, you'll just need to follow this link to reset it via either text or email. Even though it's designed for use in your inbox, you can also use your PIN to sign in. Just enter it in the same space that you'd enter your password.
If you're having some trouble remembering your PIN or password and enter incorrect ones too many times, your account will become locked. If that occurs, you'll either need to wait 15 minutes to try again.
