YouMail’s Smart Blocking feature prevents robocalls, telemarketers, call spammers, and other unwanted callers from getting through to you. If you receive a call from a number that is a spammer, you can report it as such directly from the app. The more reports made against a number, the better it is at getting blocked the next time around.
To report a number, follow the instructions below:
- Open the YouMail app and select the three bars in the upper left corner
Select History
- Find the caller you wish to block and tap the three dots in the upper right corner. Select Report Spam/Block
- Select "Report as Spam".Write any comments you wish and submit.

The directions are outdated. None of those options are in the current YouMail app.
@Colagada2 These are instructions for the newest YouMail version (3.16). Please update your app from the Google Play Store.
unwanted callers can still leave a voicemail :(
@Magdiel1975 Are you adding your callers to your Blocked contacts list? If you are only changing the greeting they hear, it will not prevent them from ringing your phone.
@Carissa haha.. I figured out this morning.. I saw that by adding the numbers to the "blocked" did the trick..good to know I am doing it right..thanks for the reply.
@Magdiel1975 Great! I'm glad you were able to figure it out. If you have any other questions, feel free to reply to the email I sent you.
I have one problem with these. When spammers call me, but don't leave a voicemail (they hang up), their number never shows up under "Hang Ups", so I cannot block them. Is there a workaround for this problem?
@Roberto If they do not show up in your "Hang Ups" list, then they are hanging up before hearing your YouMail greeting and are not being recognized by YouMail. You can block them by adding their phone number to your blocked contact list.
