It is important to have your contacts synced with YouMail
YouMail uses your contacts so that you can add customize their greetings and photo IDs and signify to YouMail that these callers are safe (not spam)! YouMail can automatically sync your contacts if you allow YouMail to access your contacts via iPhone and YouMail Settings.
Notes:
- YouMail prompts you to give Contact permission upon the first install of the app. However, this can also be done independently through app settings.

Enabling contact sync upon download
- The app will prompt you to enable device permissions. One of these permissions is for Contacts. Allowing contacts will ensure that we're able to identify safe callers and greet contacts by name.
- When you see this screen during onboarding, please select Allow.
- YouMail will then prompt you to confirm the selection. Please select OK to enable the permission.
- You can enable device contact permission by opening the app, selecting Settings (gear symbol at bottom right corner), and selecting App Permissions.
- Toggle the switch next to Contacts. Green indicates it is on.
- Navigate to the Contacts screen. If no contacts are visible, select Add Contacts. Then, select Sync Contacts. This will add your current iPhone contacts to the app and automatically update YouMail when you add new contacts to your iPhone contact list.

Adding a contact to YouMail
- Open the YouMail app and select the Contacts icon (it looks like a person).
- From the Contacts page, select the blue plus button at the bottom right of the screen. This will allow you to add a contact to your YouMail contact list.
