    1. The image in #2 needs to be updated to show a 6X entry for AT&T. *004*1234567890# will not work.

    2. None of these entries worked for me. After multiple e-mails and tweets with YouMail support, I gave up and called AT&T technical support to have them do it for me manually on their end. You must be very specific about the problem and tell them what to do because it is not their policy to support third-party APPs, and most are not familiar with how to help you.

A.) Tell AT&T to set up Variable/Conditional Call Forwarding (aka Busy/No Transfer Call forwarding) to the ten digit number that you use for your YouMail voicemail box. (The number shown here in the examples above is 347-896-6996).

B.) Also tell AT&T to change the Default Call Forwarding number to 347-896-6996 (or whatever your ten digit number is that you use for your YouMail voicemail box).

C.) Have AT&T give you a test call. They CAN do this if you are calling from your iPhone. You can let their incoming call ring and wait for voicemail to pick up, or you can reject the call and it should go to YouMail voicemail automatically (or it will go to AT&T visual voicemail if it is still not set up properly).

3.) In addition, verify that YouMail is activated by using the tool within the APP (briefly shown at the end of the video clip above).

4.) Do test calls from another phone to your iPhone to make sure that YouMail picks up when:
a.) you let the phone ring and do not answer the call
b.) you reject an incoming call when the screen is active (red or green buttons will appear for this option)
c.) you send an incoming call to voicemail when you are already on the phone talking and see a "call waiting" alert
d.) your phone is turned off and/or in airplane mode

YouMail used to work effortlessly with AT&T. That is no longer the case though, unfortunately.

@AlfaJor Thank you for the tips you provided above. There is a chance other users will run into the same issue as you, where the above methods do not work. The reason being that your carrier is the only system able to change your call forwarding methods. Thus, when you contact them, they are able to manually set it up for you.

I just got off the phone with a super helpful person at ATT (Becky - you rock!) We went through the process a number of times - including multiple test calls - and finally got it to work. She thinks that the issue was due to this:

The iPhone6 is designed to use LTE for voice and data, but in some areas LTE voice is not available. (my youmail forwarding area code 714 is one of these areas)

I went to Settings->Cellular->EnableLTE And selected "Data Only"

Then the call ignored, call busy, call declined went to the forwarding number as expected.

For those of you still having problems - this might be worth checking.

@Carissa - I too spent several calls with AT&T to help resolve and was not able to do so. Interesting in my case, that the service was working on my AT&T iPhone 6+ since October (2014) and only after I switched the account from a corporate to a personal one (same device and sim) did this problem start. Please help.

    This worked, thanks
Here is a solution that we have been playing around with in the office. It works most of the time:

    Tap ‘Settings’
    Tap ‘Phone’
    Tap ‘Calls’
    Slide ‘Call Forwarding’ to ‘ON’
    Slide 'Call Forwarding' to 'OFF'
    Open your contacts
Find and open the 'YouMail Activate' contact
Dial all three codes listed in the contact by pressing the phone icon next to each number.

It sometimes takes a few attempts at it before it works, so if it fails the first time, don't get discouraged and try it a few more times.
