Enabling Debug mode on your iOS device might be needed from time to time.
When troubleshooting an issue that cannot be resolved right away, you may be asked to enable debug mode to give the YouMail support team additional data logs. Once enabled, you will have to replicate the issue so it is logged and then submit the log which will go directly to our app developers.
Notes:
- If you're unaware of what your ticket number is for titling the debug log, you can ask your support agent to clarify this for you.
- Your ticket number can also be found in the subject of the email thread or at the bottom of the email with other relevant information.
Open the YouMail app
- Open the YouMail app from the home screen.
- Additionally, you can swipe down from the top of the home screen and search for the app by name.
Navigate to Settings and enable Debug Mode
- Once the app has been opened, click the Menu Icon in the top left corner, and then the gear icon in the bottom left.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Data & Privacy."
- Select the first option "App Settings."
- At the bottom, toggle the switch to enable Debug mode.
Recreate the issues occurring
Follow the same actions you did when you first noticed the issue. In the event that this isn't something you can replicate at will, leave the debug mode on until the issue has happened again.
Title the log and send it
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and select "Data & Privacy."
- Select the fifth option "Send Debug Log."
- Title the log as follows :
- "Ticket : xxxxx (provided by CS agent) - [detail of issue you are having]" and hit send.
Disable Debug Mode
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and select "Data & Privacy".
- Select the first option "App Settings."
- At the bottom, toggle the switch to Disable Debug mode. (The switch should be greyed out as shown to the left)
Once this has been done, please follow up with your support agent and let them know that the log has been submitted. They'll be able to alert the necessary persons internally who are working on resolving your problem.
