There is a contact in my Android phone that says it has a Youmail number and I want to edit it. The editing doesn't work on my phone, doesn't work on my Ipad, but does work on my PC. What a pain! 0 Comment actions Permalink Carissa Danao August 11, 2015 21:34 @Grannysmith2004 We apologize for the trouble. What version of the Android app are you using? There were major updates released in the newest version, please update. 0 Comment actions Permalink Grannysmith2004 August 11, 2015 23:24 I have 3.17.2. (as of 8-11-15) 0 Comment actions Permalink Charity Myers August 13, 2015 11:33 I am having the same issue. This doesn't get fixed soon I am ditching this app. Not worth the head ache 0 Comment actions Permalink Carissa Danao August 13, 2015 21:34 @Grannysmith2004 @Charity "YouMailers" are your contacts that also use YouMail. If you want to edit other contacts, please select "Everyone". We have also updated the instructions above. We apologize for the confusion. -1 Comment actions Permalink Patricia Livingston September 08, 2015 20:26 These instructions have never worked for me. When I choose "Everyone", it just takes me to my regular address book and I can not edit YouMail fields in my contacts from there - it says "Not editable from this application". I am on Android 5.1 using an LG G4, but it didn't work with my previous two phones, either. 1 Comment actions Permalink Patricia Livingston September 08, 2015 20:30 Oh, the YouMail app version I have is 3.18.1 (as of 9/8/2015). 0 Comment actions Permalink Carissa Danao September 09, 2015 19:48 @Patricia. We apologize for the issue you are having with the app. You should be able to edit your contacts either through the YouMail app or your phone's address book. If you are experiencing any bugs, please uninstall then reinstall the app. -1 Comment actions Permalink Av Simmons72 April 20, 2016 01:45 These instructions do NOT work. You click on Everyone, it just sends you to your phone book. When you click on the contact and select edit, it takes you to YouMail app to edit, but it is pointless as you can't edit there either. It will accept new numbers, but won't display the contacts current numbers for updating or simple removal. For example, my wife has 4 contact jumbers, yet only one displays in the you mail app when trying to update her contacts. It doesn't matter if I toggle from work, to home, to cell or other, only one number, the last number entered as one of her contact displays. 1 Comment actions Permalink Carissa Danao May 11, 2016 21:27 @Av When you click on your YouMail contacts, it sends you to your phone's contacts because that's how Android devices work. All contacts from all apps are united in your phone's contact list. As for your wife's case, if all her contacts are not uploaded, she needs to be connected to WiFi or have sufficient data, then upload her contacts again so it reaches our servers. Tapping on the grayed out section brings me to my contacts. When I try to edit the "YouMail" part it says "not editable from this application" Version 3.21.2 (G) 1 Comment actions Permalink Carissa Danao May 19, 2016 21:52 @Tony We're working on making it easier to edit your contacts in the app. You can edit your contacts from your phone's contact list, then import them into YouMail or you can edit your contacts on the web here: https://www.youmail.com/youmail/contacts -1 Comment actions Permalink Please sign in to leave a comment.
