SMS Spam Alerts - Android

    Spam Text Alerts

    YouMail will analyze your messages and alert you if we detect dangerous content. When enabling the feature, a permission screen will appear. For the time being all permissions must be enabled for the feature to work. Disabling any of the three permissions required for SMS protection will disable the feature.

    Notes:

    • Due to limitations with Android, YouMail is unable to block text at this time (we know it's not ideal). 
    • SMS permissions must be enabled on your Android device for YouMail.

     

    How to Enable SMS Text Alerts

    1. Open your YouMail app and click the third icon at the bottom of the screen.
    2. Select "Texts" at the top of the screen.
    3. Toggle on where it states "Text Protection"
    4. Enable SMS permissions

     

    Notification for Spam Alerts 

    1. When you get a suspicious text message, YourMail will alert you by sending a notification. 
    2. The message will read " YouMail has detected an unsafe spam message from the sender below. Be careful, do not respond or click any links in the message."

    Permissions must be enabled via Android 

    1. Go to your Android Settings > Apps > Search for YouMail and allow all permissions.
