How to place a call using the YouMail Safe Dialer

This section explains how to use the YouMail Safe Dialer so you can review number status and make safer calls.

To place a call using the Safe Dialer, follow these steps:

  1. Open the YouMail app.

  2. Tap the Dialer to begin making a call.

  3. When prompted, select whether you want to call from your Main Line or one of your Extra Lines.

  4. Enter the phone number you want to call.

  5. Review the number status or label displayed above the number to understand whether the number may be safe or potentially risky.

  6. Tap Dial to place the call.

If the number is identified as potential spam, you will be prompted to confirm the call. Tap Dial again to proceed.

After the call ends, a rating screen will appear, allowing you to provide feedback about the call.

Important:
If a number is flagged as potential spam, you must tap Dial twice to complete the call. This extra step helps prevent accidental calls to risky numbers.

Note:
The Safe Dialer warning appears when calling unknown or potentially risky numbers to help you better understand who you may be contacting.

Tip:
After your call ends, you can rate the call using the thumbs-up or thumbs-down options. Selecting thumbs down allows you to submit a spam report and help improve spam protection for other users.

Pro tip:
Regularly rating calls helps improve YouMail’s spam detection system and supports safer communication for everyone.
