How to Get Started with YouMail

Activate YouMail with Conditional Call Forwarding

To ensure that unanswered calls go to YouMail instead of your carrier's voicemail, follow these steps:

  1. Sign up for YouMail on the website or download the YouMail app on your device.

  2. Find your YouMail deposit number in the app or online. This is the unique number YouMail uses to receive forwarded calls.

  3. Enable Conditional Call Forwarding with your carrier:

    • Go to your phone’s Phone app.

    • Dial the code for your carrier (e.g., *71 for Verizon) followed by your Deposit Number.

    • Wait for the confirmation tone or message, then hang up.

  4. Test the setup by having someone call you and leave a voicemail. It should appear in your YouMail Inbox.

Important: Conditional Call Forwarding only forwards calls if your line is busy, unanswered, or unreachable. Regular calls still ring normally.

Tips

  • Download the app: Make sure YouMail is installed on your device to manage your inbox and greetings.

  • Use correct carrier codes: Each carrier has specific codes for activating Conditional Call Forwarding.
