What is YouMail?
YouMail is a visual voicemail and call blocking app that sets a new destination for your voicemail messages. We give you the ability to view, listen to, and organize your voicemail messages from any device that can connect to the internet. “Visual Voicemail” refers to the way you are able to view your voicemail messages. Much like the layout of an email inbox, your voicemail messages are stored in a neat, ordered list. Not only do we store your voicemail messages, but we provide voice-to-text transcriptions as well. The transcription allows you to review the contents of the voicemail, even when listening to the audio is not an option. How Does YouMail Work?
YouMail works by enabling your calls to forward to your new YouMail mailbox number via your carrier’s “Conditional Call Forwarding” (also known as call forwarding busy, no answer, or unavailable) setting. A phone number with “Conditional Call Forwarding” enabled will ring normally and only forward the call if you do not answer, your phone line is busy, or if you cannot be reached. When a call is forwarded, the call is sent to the YouMail voicemail system where we play your designated voicemail greeting and deposit the message in your inbox.
