YouMail can automatically play voicemail messages when you open them in your inbox. Auto-Play helps you browse messages faster, but you can turn it off if you prefer to play audio only when you tap Play. This guide shows how to manage Auto-Play settings on both Android and iPhone.

How to change Auto-Play settings on the web
Follow these steps to manage Auto-Play settings from the YouMail website.
Sign in to your YouMail account
Log in using a web browser on the YouMail website.Open Settings
Click Settings from the left-hand menu.Go to mailbox
Navigate to the section where voicemail playback preferences are managed.Select Edit under Dial in Settings to adjust Auto-Play behavior.

How to change Auto-Play settings on Android
Follow these steps to turn Auto-Play on or off in the YouMail Android app.
Open the YouMail app
Launch the YouMail app on your Android device.Open the menu
Tap the three-line menu in the top-right corner, then tap Settings.Open Messages
In Settings, tap Messages.Toggle Auto-Play
Auto-Play is the first option.
Tip: Turn Auto-Play off if you frequently open voicemails in meetings or public places.
How to change Auto-Play settings on iPhone
Follow these steps to turn Auto-Play on or off in the YouMail iPhone app.
Open the YouMail app
Launch the YouMail app on your iPhone.Open Settings
Tap the Settings icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.Open App Settings
Scroll down and tap App Settings.Toggle Auto-Play Audio
Toggle Auto-play Audio on to enable Auto-Play or off to disable it.
Note: Changes take effect immediately. You do not need to restart the app.
Troubleshooting common issues
Auto-Play still enabled: Close and reopen the app after changing the setting
Setting not saving: Make sure you are running the latest version of the YouMail app
Unexpected playback: Check your device volume and mute settings
