How to verify activation on iPhone

To verify activation on your iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Open the YouMail app and tap the shield icon at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Tap Voicemail in the top-right corner, then select Call Forwarding.

  3. Select Status.

  4. Tap Start Test Call to begin the activation test.

  5. When YouMail calls your phone, decline the call.

  6. Review the result:

    • Successful: Tap Done — your voicemail is correctly forwarded.

    • Test Call Failed: Voicemail forwarding is not active.

Important:

If Live Voicemail is enabled, YouMail will not activate correctly. Disable Live Voicemail before verifying activation.

Note:
A failed test call indicates that your carrier’s Conditional Call Forwarding is not set up properly.

Tip:
Run the test call again after making any forwarding or carrier changes.

Pro tip:
If the test continues to fail, review the relevant carrier-specific troubleshooting articles in the Help Center for the fastest resolution.

How to verify activation on Android via the app

To verify activation on Android, follow these steps:

  1. Open the YouMail app.

  2. Tap the menu icon (three bars) in the top-left corner.

  3. Go to Settings.

  4. Select Activate / Deactivate.

  5. Tap Verify YouMail is Working.

  6. Tap Verify once more to run the test call.

  7. Decline the test call when it rings to allow YouMail to detect call forwarding.

Notes:

  • If your test call fails, YouMail may be unable to verify activation for your phone.

  • Refer to related troubleshooting articles in the Help Center to resolve activation issues.

Tip:
Declining the test call is essential — answering it can prevent verification from completing.
