Email alerts showing the same contact name

Learn why all YouMail email alerts show one contact name and how to fix it by removing the saved email address from your contacts.

Overview

Email alerts showing the same contact name usually happen when [email protected] is saved to a single contact. When this email address is attached to one person, all YouMail email alerts appear to come from that contact. This guide explains how to find and remove [email protected] from your contacts on the web, Android, or iPhone.

How to fix email alerts showing the same contact name

To fix email alerts showing the same contact name, remove [email protected] from the contact where it is saved.

Before starting, check all possible contact sources:

  • Personal email contacts

  • Native phone contacts

  • YouMail contacts

Once you find the contact that includes [email protected], remove that email address.

Important: If [email protected] exists in multiple contact sources, remove it everywhere to fully resolve the issue.

Note: Changes may take a few minutes to reflect in new email alerts.

Tip: Searching directly for [email protected] is usually faster than searching by contact name.

Pro tip: If the issue persists, check your device’s native Contacts app, as synced contacts can override app-specific changes.
