Using YouMail on a Flip Phone
YouMail does support flip phones, but please note that many features are only available on smartphones. Since the YouMail app cannot be used on a flip phone, you will need to manage your voicemail through the YouMail website.
To stay updated, we strongly recommend enabling email notifications. This way, you will receive an email alert whenever a new voicemail is received and can log in to your YouMail inbox to listen to it.
How to Activate YouMail on a Flip Phone
If you do not yet have a YouMail account:
Visit www.youmail.com
Enter your phone number and select “Sign Up for Free” or “Join Now.”
Once your account is created, click where it says “Phone Lines.”
Click the drop-down arrow to the right of Edit
Select activate
Follow the instructions shown to dial the activation codes on your phone
Continue through the prompts to complete setup
If you already have a YouMail account:
Visit www.youmail.com and sign in
Navigate to Phone Lines
Click the drop-down arrow to the right of Edit
Select activate YouMail
Follow the on-screen instructions to dial the activation codes and complete the setup
How to Deactivate YouMail on a Flip Phone
If you would like to return to your carrier’s voicemail service, YouMail must be deactivated so calls can forward back to your carrier.
Visit the YouMail Help Center
Open the article titled “How to Deactivate YouMail.”
Follow the steps listed under “If you’ve already uninstalled the app.”
Dial the provided deactivation codes to restore your carrier voicemail
