Overview
Privacy Guard is a YouMail feature that helps prevent spam and robocalls from private or blocked numbers. When enabled, callers without a visible phone number must enter their number to reach your voicemail or are immediately disconnected. This guide explains how to activate Privacy Guard using the YouMail website and how it affects call handling.
Key benefits / use cases
• Block private callers: Stop spam and robocalls that hide their caller ID
• Reduce interruptions: Prevent unwanted calls from reaching your voicemail
• Custom call handling: Choose how private numbers are treated
• Web-based control: Easily manage Privacy Guard from your online account
How to activate Privacy Guard on the web
To activate YouMail Privacy Guard, follow these steps:
Log in to your account on the YouMail website
Go to the Spam Protection tab
Select Settings
Click Edit
Check the box next to Private Numbers
Select Private number settings
Choose how you want private number calls to be handled

Important: Once enabled, private callers may be required to enter their phone number before reaching your voicemail or may be disconnected immediately, depending on your selected settings.

Silence Unknown Callers is enabled in your iPhone settings.
