How to Delete Your Messages

Learn how to delete voicemail messages on the YouMail website, Android, and iOS app to manage your inbox.

Deleting voicemail messages on the YouMail website helps you keep your inbox organized and within storage limits. This guide walks you through deleting single messages or multiple messages at once using the web interface, as well as deleting messages via the Android and Ios App.


How to delete voicemail messages on the YouMail website

To delete voicemail messages on the YouMail website, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your account at My YouMail.

  2. From the left-hand menu, select Voicemail.

  3. Choose the folder containing the messages you want to delete:

    • Inbox

    • Saved

    • Spam

    • Any custom folder

  4. Select the voicemail you want to delete by clicking the message.

  5. Click Actions in the navigation bar.

  6. From the drop-down menu, select Delete.

The selected message will be removed from the folder.


How to delete multiple voicemail messages on the YouMail website

To delete voicemail messages in bulk, follow these steps:

  1. Select the checkboxes next to each message you want to delete.

  2. Click Actions.

  3. Select Delete from the drop-down menu.

Once deleted, the messages are removed from your inbox.

Important: Deleted messages may remain in the Trash folder temporarily before being permanently deleted.

Note: Messages in Trash may still count toward storage until they are permanently removed.

Tip: Use bulk deletion when clearing large numbers of messages to save time.

Pro tip: Review messages in the Saved folder before deleting to avoid removing important voicemails.


How to delete Voicemail messages on the Android app

To delete messages on the Android app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the app.
    Your Inbox is the first screen displayed when the app opens.

  2. Tap the drop-down arrow next to Inbox to select the folder containing the messages you want to delete.

  3. Choose one of the following ways to delete messages:

    • Delete multiple messages: Press and hold each message you want to delete until it is highlighted

    • Delete a single message: Swipe the message to the right

    • Delete from inside a message: Open the message and tap the trash can icon in the upper-right corner

  4. If deleting multiple messages, tap the trash can icon in the upper-right corner once all desired messages are selected.

Once deleted, the messages are removed from your inbox.

Important: Deleted messages may remain in the Trash folder temporarily before being permanently removed.


How to delete messages on the iOS app

To delete messages on the iOS app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the app and navigate to your Inbox by tapping the Inbox icon in the bottom-left corner

  2. From the Inbox, locate the message you want to delete.

  3. Delete the message using one of these methods:

    • Swipe left on the message and tap Delete

    • Open the message and tap the Delete icon

Once deleted, the message is removed from your inbox.

Pro tip: Review your Trash folder before the 30-day period ends in case you need to recover a deleted message.

Important: Deleted messages may remain in the Trash folder temporarily before being permanently removed.
