How to report spam SMS on iPhone
To report a spam message in the iOS messaging app, follow these steps:
Open the messaging app on your iPhone.
Tap the Menu icon (three lines) in the upper right corner to open your folders and views.
Select the Unknown Senders folder.
Because SMS Filtering is enabled, messages from unknown numbers are automatically placed here.
Tap the spam message you want to report.
Tap Delete.
Select Delete and Report Spam.
Tap Done in the upper right-hand corner.
The number will now be reported and blocked from calling you.
Important: Reporting a number as spam will also prevent that number from calling you in the future.
Note: Verification codes and two-factor authentication (2FA) messages may sometimes appear in the Unknown Senders folder. If you frequently receive authentication codes, review messages carefully before reporting them as spam.
Tip: Regularly checking the Unknown Senders folder helps ensure important messages are not missed.
Pro tip: The more spam numbers you report, the better YouMail’s spam detection improves for the entire community.
