  • Centralized communication: Manage multiple numbers within one YouMail account

  • Flexible plan usage: Add a ported number without replacing your primary line

How to port your number to YouMail

Porting your number to YouMail transfers service for that phone number from your current provider to YouMail and enables it as an Extra Line.

To port your number to YouMail, follow these steps:

  1. Confirm that your plan is eligible for number porting.
Eligible plans include Solo, Growth, Small Business, YouMail Essential, YouMail Complete, and YouMail Ultimate.

  2. Verify that your current phone number is active with your existing provider.
The number must remain fully active throughout the entire porting process.

  3. Gather the required account and carrier information listed below.
Ensure all details exactly match your current carrier’s records to avoid delays.

  4. From the email address on file for your YouMail account, email the required information to [email protected].
Attach all requested documents in PDF format where applicable.

  5. Keep your YouMail plan active and monitor email updates from the YouMail support team until the port is completed.

Important: YouMail does not support porting toll-free numbers such as 800, 888, or 855 numbers.

Note: YouMail is not a wireless provider. Porting timelines are similar to wireline or IP ports and can take up to two weeks or longer, depending on the carrier.

Tip: Request a Customer Service Record (CSR) from your carrier in advance to help resolve potential discrepancies.

Pro tip: Check your plan’s virtual line limit before submitting a port request. You may need to upgrade your plan to avoid delays.
