Drop Box Voicemail Emails are Sent to the Spam Folder

Fix Drop Box emails going to Spam in YouMail

YouMail Drop Box

Overview

If your YouMail Drop Box voicemails are being delivered to the Spam folder instead of your Inbox, it is usually because the sender isn't recognized as a trusted contact. To prevent this, you must add trusted senders to your YouMail Contacts.

How YouMail processes Dropbox voicemails

When YouMail receives a voicemail email with an audio attachment, it processes the message based on the sender’s email address.

If the sender is not in your Contacts

If the sender’s email address is not saved in your YouMail Contacts:

  • The audio attachment is converted into a voicemail

  • The voicemail is delivered to the Spam folder

  • Future messages from this sender will continue going to Spam

To fix this:

  • Add the sender’s email address to your YouMail Contacts

  • Move the voicemail from Spam to the Inbox

Once added, future voicemails from this sender will go directly to your Inbox.

Important: Messages from common free email providers are automatically treated as higher risk and may be sent to Spam unless saved in your Contacts.

This includes:

  • yahoo.com

  • gmail.com

  • hotmail.com

  • aol.com

  • sbcglobal.net

  • att.net

  • charter.net

  • mail.com

  • lycos.com

  • excite.com

  • email.com

If the sender is trusted

If the sender’s email address meets either of the following conditions:

  • It matches the domain of your YouMail account email address

  • It is saved in your YouMail Contacts

Then YouMail will:

  • Process the audio attachment

  • Deliver the voicemail directly to your Inbox

How to prevent future Spam delivery

To ensure Dropbox voicemails are delivered correctly:

  • Add trusted senders to your YouMail Contacts

  • Keep your Contacts list updated

  • Move any misclassified messages from Spam to Inbox

Doing this trains the system to recognize safe senders.
