How to fix Extra Line calls not ringing on iPhone

Follow these steps if calls to your Extra Line are not ringing on your iPhone.


Check Extra Line settings on iPhone

To confirm your Extra Line is configured correctly:

  1. Open the YouMail app.

  2. Select Settings (gear icon in the bottom-right corner).

  3. Tap Phone Lines.

  4. Select your Extra Line number.

  5. Confirm the Forward to field shows the correct destination phone number.

Note:
If the forwarding number is incorrect, Extra Line calls will not reach your iPhone.


Check connection method on iPhone

YouMail can connect Extra Line calls using Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.

  1. Open your Extra Line settings.

  2. Locate Connect by.

  3. Select the appropriate option.

  • Wi-Fi: Your iPhone must stay connected to Wi-Fi to receive calls

  • Mobile Data (Mobile Voice): Requires a strong cellular signal

Tip:
Switch to Mobile Data if Wi-Fi connectivity is unstable.


Check for a blocked Dedicated ID on iPhone

If using Cellular Data, ensure the Dedicated ID is not blocked.

The Dedicated ID is the number YouMail uses to bridge calls when Show “Calls to Extra Line” is enabled.

  1. Locate the Dedicated ID in your Extra Line settings.

  2. Open your iPhone’s native block list.

  3. Confirm the number is not blocked.

Important:
Each Extra Line has a unique Dedicated ID. Blocking it will prevent calls from ringing.


How to fix Extra Line calls not ringing on Android

Follow these steps if calls to your Extra Line are not ringing on your Android device.


Check Extra Line settings on Android

To verify forwarding settings:

  1. Open the YouMail app.

  2. Tap the menu icon (three bars) in the top-left corner.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Tap Phone Lines.

  5. Select your Extra Line number.

  6. Confirm the Forward to number is correct.

Note:
Calls will not ring if the forwarding number is incorrect or inactive.


Check connection method on Android

Extra Line calls can be connected using Wi-Fi or Mobile Data.

  1. Open the Extra Line settings.

  2. Find Connect by.

  3. Select the preferred option.

  • Wi-Fi: Requires a continuous Wi-Fi connection

  • Mobile Data (Mobile Voice): Requires strong cellular coverage

Tip:
Disable battery or data restrictions to ensure reliable call delivery.


Check for a blocked Dedicated ID on Android

If using Mobile Data, verify the Dedicated ID is not blocked.

  1. Locate the Dedicated ID listed in your Extra Line settings.

  2. Open your phone’s blocked numbers list.

  3. Ensure the Dedicated ID is not blocked.

Important:


Each Extra Line has its own Dedicated ID. Blocking it will stop calls from ringing.
