This guide walks you through messaging from Android and iPhone apps, as well as from the web dashboard, so you can manage communications wherever you are.

How to send text messages from your Extra Line
To send texts from your Extra Line, follow the steps below for your device or platform.
Android
Open the YouMail app and select the Messages tab in the bottom right-hand corner.
Tap Start Chat to begin a new message.
Enter the recipient’s number or select a contact from your list.
Select the Extra Line you want to send the message from at the bottom of the screen.
Type your message and hit Send.
Access all texts from the Messages tab anytime.

iPhone
Open the YouMail app and tap the dialer in the bottom right-hand corner.
Tap New Text.
Enter the recipient’s contact or phone number at the top of the screen.
Select your Extra Line from the drop-down menu at the top.
Type your message and tap Send.
Access all Extra Line texts from the Messages tab at the bottom of the app.
To start another new text, tap the blue floating action button on the Messages tab.
Web
Sign in to your YouMail account at YouMail.com on a computer.
On the left-hand menu, click Messages, then select Messages from the dropdown.
Reply to an existing message or click Send New Message to create a new one.
Add a recipient: Enter the number and click + to confirm.
Type your message at the bottom of the page and click the Send icon.
Note: Group messages on the web can include up to nine contacts at once.
FAQs
Can I send messages from multiple Extra Lines?
Yes. If you have more than one Extra Line, you can select which line to send from when composing a new message.
Can I receive messages from my Extra Line on all platforms?
Yes. Incoming messages appear in the Messages tab across Android, iPhone, and the web.
Do texts use my cell minutes?
No. Messages are sent via your YouMail Extra Line account, not your cellular voice plan.
