Learn how to activate conditional call forwarding with Telus Mobility so YouMail can manage missed calls and voicemail

Overview

Telus Mobility customers can connect their phone line to YouMail by enabling conditional call forwarding. This setup allows YouMail to receive missed calls, manage voicemail, and provide advanced spam protection. This guide explains eligibility requirements, important carrier notes, and the exact activation codes needed to complete setup successfully.

Key benefits / use cases

  • YouMail voicemail handling: Ensure missed calls are routed to YouMail instead of carrier voicemail

  • Spam protection: Enable YouMail’s call blocking and filtering features

  • Reliable voicemail delivery: Maintain consistent voicemail handling even when your phone is unreachable

How to activate call forwarding with Telus Mobility

Activating call forwarding with Telus Mobility ensures that unanswered calls are forwarded to your YouMail deposit number.

To activate call forwarding with Telus Mobility, follow these steps:

  1. Confirm that Call Forwarding is included in your Telus Mobility plan.

  2. Disable your Telus carrier voicemail to prevent conflicts.

  3. Confirm that your YouMail Deposit Number is a local number to avoid long-distance charges.
If needed, contact [email protected] to request a local deposit number.

  4. Open your phone’s dialer and enter the following codes exactly as shown. Be sure to include all asterisk (*) and pound (#) symbols:

    • Dial *67*[10-digit deposit number]# and tap Call

    • Dial *62*[10-digit deposit number]# and tap Call

    • Dial *61*[10-digit deposit number]# and tap Call

  5. Wait for confirmation after each code is entered.

Once completed, missed calls will be forwarded to YouMail.

How to set a call forwarding delay (optional)

You can customize how long your phone rings before forwarding unanswered calls.

To set a call forwarding delay, follow these steps:

  1. Complete all activation steps above.

  2. Dial *004*[10-digit deposit number]*[seconds]# and tap Call.

  3. Choose one of the supported delay options:

    • 10 seconds

    • 20 seconds

    • 30 seconds

Important

  • Telus Prepaid accounts do not support call forwarding

  • Some Telus plans may apply additional charges for call forwarding usage

  • Forwarding calls to a non-local deposit number may result in long-distance charges

  • Canadian and U.S. long-distance plans may still incur charges if the deposit number is not local

Note

If activation does not work as expected, visit Telus Mobility’s Call Forwarding FAQ and follow their instructions for Conditional Call Forwarding (Busy, No Reply, and Not Reachable).
