Overview
YouMail may temporarily lock an account to protect it from unauthorized access. Account lockouts usually occur after multiple failed sign-in attempts or entering an incorrect PIN. This guide explains why accounts are locked and how to unlock your YouMail account and sign in again.
Common causes of account lockouts
Too many failed sign-in attempts: Entering the wrong password multiple times triggers a temporary lock
Incorrect PIN entry: Repeatedly entering the wrong PIN may lock access
Forgotten password: Attempting to sign in without resetting the password first
How to unlock your YouMail account
To unlock your YouMail account, follow these steps:
Wait approximately one hour for the temporary lock to clear automatically
After the lockout period ends, reset your password using the Password Retrieval link on the sign-in page
Sign in again using your updated password or your existing PIN (if applicable)
Important: Resetting your password after a lockout helps prevent repeated sign-in failures.
Note: Passwords should meet these security requirements:
8–12 characters minimum
At least one uppercase letter
At least one number or symbol
Tip: If you never created a password, you may still be able to sign in using your PIN, depending on your account setup.
Pro tip: Use a password manager to store your credentials securely and reduce the chance of future lockouts.
