If you recently switched carriers or ported your phone number, you may need to update your phone carrier in YouMail. Keeping your carrier information accurate ensures Conditional Call Forwarding is set up correctly and prevents activation issues.

How to update the phone carrier via the iPhone app
To update your phone carrier in the YouMail iOS app, follow these steps:
Open the YouMail app.
Tap the Settings (gear icon) in the upper left-hand corner.
Select Main Line.
Tap Advanced.
Under your phone number, tap Edit.
In the Carrier section, tap the dropdown arrow.
Select your current carrier.
Tap Save.
Important: After updating your carrier, you may need to deactivate and reactivate YouMail to ensure forwarding works properly.
Tip: Run a Test Call in the Activation section to confirm voicemail routing is correct.
How to update the phone carrier via the Android app
To update your phone carrier in the YouMail Android app, follow these steps:
Open the YouMail app.
Tap the Menu icon (β°) in the top-left corner.
Tap Settings.
Select Phone Lines.
Tap your Main Line.
Tap Advanced.
Under your phone number, tap Edit.
In the Carrier section, select your current carrier from the dropdown menu.
Tap Save.
Important: If you recently changed carriers, you should deactivate and reactivate YouMail after saving your changes.
Note: Updating your carrier does not delete voicemails or change your greeting settings.
How to update the phone carrier on the web
To update your phone carrier from your online account, follow these steps:
Sign in to your YouMail.com account.
Select Phone Lines from the left-hand menu.
Click "Edit" under the line to be adjusted.
Click the drop-down arrow in the carrier section.
Choose your current carrier from the dropdown list.
Click Save.
Important: After updating your carrier on the web, you may still need to complete reactivation from your mobile app.
Pro tip: If activation continues to fail after updating your carrier, try running the activation process again or contact Support for assistance.
