Call Forwarding - Metro by T-Mobile

Set up call forwarding on Metro by T-Mobile so YouMail can receive missed calls and provide voicemail service.

Overview

Call forwarding for Metro by T-Mobile allows YouMail to receive unanswered calls and connect callers to your YouMail voicemail. YouMail uses a carrier feature called Conditional Call Forwarding (CCF), which forwards calls only when you don’t answer, your line is busy, or your phone is unreachable. This guide explains how to add Call Forwarding to your Metro by T-Mobile account and activate YouMail.

How to enable call forwarding for Metro by T-Mobile

To enable call forwarding for Metro by T-Mobile and activate YouMail, follow these steps:

  1. Add the Call Forwarding feature to your Metro by T-Mobile account.
    Metro by T-Mobile offers Call Forwarding for $1 per month.
    You can add this feature by:

    • Contacting Metro by T-Mobile Customer Service, or

    • Using the MyMetro app

  2. Use the MyMetro app to manage your features (optional).

Activate YouMail call forwarding.
Once Call Forwarding is active on your account:

  • Open the YouMail setup page for your device

  • Select the drop-down arrow next to Edit

  • Select Forward to YouMail

  1. Complete activation.
    Follow the on-screen instructions to finish enabling Conditional Call Forwarding and connect your calls to YouMail.

Important

Call Forwarding must be active on your Metro by T-Mobile account before YouMail activation can succeed. If activation fails, contact Metro by T-Mobile support to confirm that Conditional Call Forwarding is enabled on your line.

Note

Conditional Call Forwarding only forwards calls when you don’t answer, your line is busy, or your phone is unreachable. Your phone will continue to ring normally for answered calls.

Tip

If you change phones, SIM cards, or Metro by T-Mobile plans, you may need to reactivate call forwarding to keep YouMail working correctly.
